Infant Toddler Technical Assistance Network

The Infant Toddler Project at the NYSCCCC promotes the importance of the infancy period (birth to three) through a variety of statewide activities. Its primary function is to provide coordination and support to the Regional Infant Toddler Technical Assistance Centers (IT TA Centers) across the state.

The IT Project provides information about Best Practices in Infant and Toddler child care that is based upon the latest research findings.

The IT Project works to expand professional development opportunities for those working with babies in early care and education programs. Through partnerships with NYS Association for the Education of Young Children, higher education institutions and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies, we are increasing coursework, credentials and degree programs for those who want to focus on infants and toddlers. NYSCCCC has provided leadership on infant/toddler issues for many years. Prior to the formation of the IT Project, NYSCCCC coordinated a workgroup that became the Infant Toddler Blueprint Advisory Committee. In 2003, the IT Project invited other IT leaders across the state to join in an effort to establish an Annual NYS Conference on Infancy. The first event was held in 2004 and plans are underway for 2005.
