T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) is a model scholarship Program developed by the Day Care Services Association in North Carolina. It is designed to provide a comprehensive and integrated structure for a variety of scholarship initiatives for people working in early care and education.

T.E.A.C.H. has the following goals:

Recipients are awarded scholarships to earn certificates, credentials, Associate, Bachelors, and Post-Bachelor degrees in early childhood education, as well as teacher certification necessary to teach in a Universal Prekindergarten program.

T.E.A.C.H. is based on a partnership principle that exists between the scholarship program, the sponsoring employer, and the scholarship recipient. Each partner must agree to pay a portion of the cost of education.

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® New York Project will cover a significant portion of the cost of tuition, books and release time. T.E.A.C.H. will also pay cash bonuses to the recipient upon completion of the contracted course work. Actual percentage of costs will vary upon certificate, credential, or degree pursued and employer type.
